Revathy Suresh

Revathy Suresh is a passionate filmmaker, visual effects artist, and classical dancer whose creative journey beautifully blends tradition and technology. As the elder daughter of a film-loving family, while her sister chose the spotlight in front of the camera, Revathy found her calling behind it.

She completed her schooling in India and pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in Direction and Animation from the International Academy of Design and Technology, Chicago. She later specialized in Visual Effects at the DAVE School in Orlando, Florida, equipping herself with a strong foundation in cinematic storytelling and digital innovation.

A dedicated disciple of Padma Bhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, Revathy began learning Bharatanrityam at the age of five and had her arangetram in 2002 in Chennai. Since then, she has performed alongside her guru and in solo shows across many prestigious stages. For Revathy, cinema is her passion, and dance is her heartbeat.

Her film journey began as an intern to renowned director Priyadarshan during the making of Billu Barber (2010), and she has since assisted him on several major projects including Oppam, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, and Hungama 2. She also collaborated with her sister on Marakkar, a cherished milestone in her career.

Revathy further honed her skills in the VFX industry at Red Chillies VFX, contributing to major productions such as Krrish 3, Chennai Express, and Ra.One. She later returned to creative leadership as the Vice Chairman of Revathy Kalamandhir Film Academy, where she successfully hosted 24-hour film challenges and mentored aspiring filmmakers.

She also lent her expertise to the VFX department of Barroz, the directorial debut of actor Mohanlal. In 2023, Revathy made her directorial mark with the short film Thank U, a heartfelt story about the emotional journey of a widower.

Currently serving as the Creative Director of Revathy Kalamandhir, she continues to support her father’s productions while preparing for her debut as a feature film director, with her first script already in development. Revathy also enjoys organizing events for her friends and community, adding her personal touch to everything she creates.

Beyond the world of cinema, Revathy is deeply committed to social causes. She is an active member of People for Animals (PFA) Trivandrum, reflecting her compassion for animal welfare. An avid reader and writer, she has a keen interest in research, a passion that deepened after completing her Master’s in Bharatanatyam from SASTRA University, Tanjore. Revathy aspires to transform her research work into meaningful documentaries, bringing untold stories and thoughtful perspectives to the screen.
